The Yoga classes available at the Center have proven to be effective in reducing the
stress and anxiety that can lead to a variety of health and emotional problems.
As a contemplative practice, its aim is to placate the major
causes of suffering that could lead
to disease.
Dr. Casellas named his style of meditative yoga Pratyaahvaya Yoga. (Pratyaahvaya
means "Resonance" in Sanskrit.) It focuses on
the philosophical rather than on the physical aspects of yoga, drawing from
certain aspects of Hatha Yoga, Kripalu Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga,
Bikram Yoga (the so-called "hot room yoga"), and Power Yoga.
The guiding principle of Dr. Casellas's yoga is
that
the only time to be happy is now,
the only place to be happy is here, and
that the best way to become happy is to make others happy.
