Nondiscrimination

We abide by Section 1557 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

Section 1557 is the nondiscrimination provision of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The law prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability in certain health programs or activities. Section 1557 builds on, long-standing, and familiar Federal civil rights laws.

Privacy

Although we are not an insurance provider nor can we accept health insurance plans,  we abide by Title II of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which "defines policies, procedures and guidelines for maintaining the privacy and security of individually identifiable health information.

The purpose of the law is to improve portability of health insurance coverage, reduce healthcare fraud and abuse and to protect individual privacy of personal health records. The Center also abides by the the Electronic Communication Act, 18 USC SS 2510-2521, which prohibits the interception and disclosure of wire, oral, or electronic communications of confidential information.
