Jaime R. Carlo-Casellas, Ph.D.

“Stress erodes every aspect of our lives.
It’s a luxury we cannot afford.”
Jaime Carlo-Casellas, the founding director of the Stress Management & Prevention Clinic, is a
Stress Management Specialist with a Ph.D. in anatomy and pathology. He completed the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction practicum offered by John Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D., at the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Healthcare and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
He trained at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox, Massachusetts and experienced the Kundalini Yoga tradition under Guru Siri Shiva Singh. Furthermore, he is a member of the
International Association of Yoga Therapists and registered by
the Yoga Alliance.
Though Dr. Carlo-Casellas’ training is in mindfulness and a broad spectrum of Yoga disciplines, the Yoga he practices and teaches is
Raja Yoga. This higher form of Yoga is concerned with the cultivation of the mind using meditation
(dhyana) to further one’s acquaintance with reality and to finally achieve liberation
(samadhi).
His most recent accolade was being baptized
Sat Hari Singh (Man of Supreme Truthfulness) in Haramara, Mexico by Guru Siri Shiva Singh,
founder of
Vishudananda Yoga.
In addition to facilitating the Yoga and meditation session at his Clinic, he provides private coaching to individuals learning to cope with the ravages of stress and stress-related conditions. He also leads workshops for corporations dedicated to enhancing productivity by reducing the level of stress among their staff.
Although his colleagues respect him for his knowledge of biomechanics and the neurobiology of mindfulness, his students recognize him for his soothing voice, wit and understanding of the chaos and bliss we experience as human beings. His insight into the nature of the human experience is reflected in his book,
Chaos & Bliss–A Journey to Happiness: Poems and Verse to Enlighten the Mind. To order the book, go to the “Products” section of the Web site.
